the back of the cat's claws are my division, is this normal?
Several of the claws on the feet of my cat is starting to divide and become bored and almost square shaped. Just as clearly it should be. Is this normal? It's a cat indoor / outdoor and generally takes good care of yourself (cleaning wise) but I am worried about his claws. The front claws are good. Is there anything I can do? There seems to be in pain. But it's good masking.
It's normal. Remember The cats were around before the tame them. That means we need ways to stay prepared without the aid of humans. the natural way of doing this was that the division of the jaws and worn naturally. Of course, some of the usual instincts of cats and dogs have been suppressed through years and years of evolution (Because they have been met, and can not find for themselves easily, for example) so a little help from human beings is often necessary (or at least very helpful). Because your cat is not in the nature as well as cats that used to be when they were wild, their claws do not have as much wear. And because their nails are designed to withstand the wear of being in nature 100% of the time, out of 50% is not enough to carry enough of the nail. So cut them for him! Of course, if this really seems to persist, it could be a vitamin imbalance, probably most of biotin (a B vitamin). The vet could run a CBC / blood electrolyte panel if necessary. But that's probably expensive and unnecessary. Just go to court if they continue to split and peel, then a visit the vet would be useful and probably ease your mind.
